The Kali Gear Short Talibong is a real fighting bolo with a stainless steel handguard and a rugged thick blade. They are part of our first production of blades with Illongo tenegre hilt designs from the islands of Panay and Negros. Tenegre hilts are believed to be representations of ancient deities or ancestral figures. Kali Gear has taken inspiration from the older designs and crafted these blades to function, but also carry a reference to history.
The scabbard of the Short Talibong are made of bahi wood and are dressed with goat fur. The goat fur ranges from white to brown and is sometimes a mix of white and brown.
Note: Each blade is handmade in the Philippines and therefore may have slight variations in sizes as well as small imperfections in the finishing or construction dimensions. Variations and slightly irregular lines are common among all handmade blades in the Philippines. We believe that these imperfections do not affect performance.
