Here is an authentic antique Moro Fighting Barong from the Southern Philippines. The Moro Barong is a thick, cleaver-like fighting blade that has a notorious history of use in the Mindanao and Sulu area. The scabbard of this barong is embellished with aluminum, water buffalo horn, and a fiber wrap. The wooden handle is carved of a burled wood.
This is an antique blade and therefore is not recommended for use as a practice weapon. Though still intact, the parts are a little fragile due to the age of the item. Also, please note that though the blade is covered by the scabbard, the barong handle does not completely fit inside the small round notch at the top, inside of the scabbard.
